These essays are culled from undergraduate studies in English Honors and Liberal Arts and Science, and Master-Doctorate seminars in literature, religion, and psychology. Two of the essays were completed in the Aldous Huxley Library during a retreat and initiation at a Brahmin monastery.

NEW! "Mythology: An Introduction to the Realm of Gods, Heroes, and Faeries" reveals the Greek origins of "myth" in contrast to contemporary popular attitudes, surveys the history of the modern academic study of myth including major schools and figures, describes Joseph Campbell's three-stage monomyth in comparision to alternative models, and considers the prospects for the creative production of myth.

"In Search of the Philosopher's Stone" outlines the first principles and goals of the ageless wisdom common to all religions; chronicles the legendary origins and mythic history of hidden knowledge, its central figure, and the requirements of the art of Self-realization; and, finally, unveils the treasure hard-to-attain and gemstone of paradise, the Grail.

"Moses" applies the mythic hero archetype to the story of Exodus and considers Egypt as a symbol for a corrupt social order in need of spiritual renewal.

"The Christian Gospel" introduces the scholarly consensus of textual criticism for the Bible, outlines the historical context of ancient Judaism and the Roman Empire, and especially focusing on the Gospel of Mark, gives an example of an interpretive strategy for reading of the life and teachings of Jesus the Christ. This book reveals the missing years of Jesus, the controversy among the disciples, and esoteric mystery of the Kingdom of God.

"Muhammad" applies the mythic hero archetype to the life of the Prophet and the revelation from the angel Gabriel.

"Buddhism" focuses on the textual history of the Lotus Sutra, the life of Nichiren Daishonin, and Maitreya as a bodhisattva ideal.

"Anima-Animus" is an introduction to Jungian psychology as expressed through a love relationship.

"The White Buffalo Oracle" is the record of an American Indian prophecy and its fulfillment. 


"The Land of Nod" is a sonnet sequence inspired by Biblical themes and recounts the story of Creation, the war among the immortals, the age of heroes and fairies on Earth, the catastrophes of the Flood and the Tower, and the struggles of slaves in Egypt and Babylon to live in accord with Truth.

"The Christian Exodus" is a history of the origins of the American colonies in a Protestant European intellectual context which assumed information lost in the corruption of Adam would be regained and total knowledge of the natural world and divine principles would accompany the return of the Christ in the New World wilderness.

"Philosophical Spirituality - Revelation of Hidden Truthis a synthesis of the mystical traditions within the world's religions: a systematic and comprehensive account of the evolution of Spirit in man and Nature, the origins of the universe and how it operates, and man’s place within it.
  
"The Truth about Cannabis (2006)" presents the history of the plant, the scientific facts, and its medicinal benefits.
